By now at 21-23 weeks, your baby is about 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound. Your child now is taking on the development of fat and the skin is less transparent. They look more like a newborn looks now.

Your third trimester pregnancy symptoms are different from the earlier morning sickness of nausea and vomiting.  Your baby’s size and position make you feel fat and uncomfortable.  You may be tired of pregnancy and want it over.  The baby becomes much more active which can increase your discomfort and lordy will you be cranky if you go past your due date.

There are many things that can cause you to experience lower abdominal pain in the third trimester of your pregnancy.  Some are relatively simple problems and others are quite serious.Some women experience mild discomfort during implantation, the time when the embryo implants herself into your uterine wall.

When your third trimester starts in your twenty seventh week, you may feel a lot of different emotions but don’t worry, its all normal.  You might feel excited about your baby’s impending birth, you may feel worried about the delivery especially if this is your first pregnancy, you could even be worried if your baby is going to be healthy.  You might also have a lot of questions about what to expect in the next three months.  I will try to answer some of those questions here.

The third trimester of development is when the twenty seventh week starts. At this early stage in the third trimester you baby looks like he will when he’s born. His liver, lungs and immune system aren’t fully mature, but they get stronger every day. By this time you’re showing and everyone knows you’re pregnant. You’re gaining weight but don’t think you can eat for two. Your body will automatically feed you baby and nourishes you at the same time and like any other time, what you don’t use gets stored in your body as fat.
