I have always stayed with the safety 1st line of products for all my infant product needs, this is because I have used and trust the brand. With my first child I wasn’t sure about purchasing a baby monitor. My husband was quite insistent that we would need one because his sister had complications with all her children. He wanted to go get one right away and buy the most expensive out there.
I did convince him to stop and take a look online at least to review the baby monitors. After many different comparisons we ended up looking at the safety 1st baby monitors. Most of their pricing was very reasonable, and lately they have expanded their line of products from simple audio connections to the baby’s room, to equipment with video cameras to ones with high technology and sound sensors.
No matter which model we looked at, the affordable price recommended their baby monitors to us. We actually bought two kinds to try them out first. We bought a very simple and affordable audio transmitting system and one with more sophisticated video one but in black and white. We tried out both before the baby was due and ended up sticking with the video monitor. It is so much more reassuring to be able to visually see your infants state instead of hearing a noise and guessing at what might have caused it.
I know I am up several times a night with a new infant, so knowing that I don’t always have to get out of bed and possibly wake the baby each time there is concern is a great relief. I also love the clarity that comes through on my monitor. I always turn the volume up high to ensure that I can hear my daughter breathing.
There has been little to no interference with any of the appliances or the cordless phones in our house or neighbours houses. This is very important.
It is a good idea to keep an eye on your batteries with this type of monitor. You can choose to plug it in all night and carry it around by day, or you can plug it in all day and use it unplugged at night.
Since I have had my baby, it’s been about 11 month now I have found a very reliable baby safety monitor with the safety 1st monitor. I have not noticed a decrease in quality or reception over time, and I have the monitor active at least eight hours at night and frequently during nap times. The video display has reassured me countless times and saved me from having to drag myself out of bed to check on a peacefully sleeping infant.
