Adjustable Wooden High Chairs
Summary: This is something that will last for years, I am very glad I had one as a kid as it was more then just a chair- it was a memory chair that gave us years and years of use.

As a child I had a wooden high chair, now I know you going to say how would I remember that - well this chair was passed around my family for years from my family members to cousin's to friends to family members and back again. So much so I think I could write a book on the amount of babies that used this not very expensive high chair.

Buying anything for a child is an investment, in this day and age we seem to dispose of everything and nothing seems to be made to last, so let me try and remember what made this chair so different to the cheap plastic high chairs that you find in stores now.

The chair was very unusual in design and had some great features - the tray fit snugly round the baby so no chance of baby getting out, or trapping food down the sides, which can be a problem.

It was very easy to clean, but didn't have a padded seat so a little sore on the bum if you decided to leave your baby in it for long. It was sturdy and stylish it didn't look out of place in anyone's house (due to a number of paint jobs to make it look cleaner).

One of the unusual features that I don’t think I've seen anywhere else was that this chair was able to split in two and the baby could sit on the top half which had wheels and scoot around the kitchen without any worries. Kind of an early walker for your child.

If I was to sum this all up it was a stylish, robust, stable, lightweight and infinitely adjustable highchair that lasted almost 25 years until we lost track of who had it last. I'm sure this could still be out there being used as I write.

Just a quick side note - Years later I was in a friend’s house looking at photos and they also had one and the same thing for them passed around just like ours.

So if you're going to spend money on a new highchair you have a couple of options buy cheap or research and buy one that will last years and years.
