So actually your baby has not even been conceived yet. After ovulation when your egg is fertilized with a sperm (sometimes more)is when your baby is beginning to grow and develop.

As your baby grows you may not realize you have conceived.  That is of course if  you do not have the “side effects” of early pregnancy. Most typically menses will have stopped and the mucous in the cervix may become stretchy and long. It is similar in consistency to egg whites.

There are other signs of early pregnancy that for some can be very bothersome. You will likely feel more tired than usual and experience nausea or morning sickness. Low back pain may become pronounced than it did previously .

Other bothersome signs of early pregnancy also include an increase in urination. You might notice a metallic taste in your mouth. You may also have an increased body temperature. Your breasts may be sore as well.

Now you are at 20 weeks of pregnancy and you may be relieved that you are now half-way through your pregnancy. A lot has changed by now.  You might be showing now. Your baby ways only about ten ounces and about 6 inches from head to the rear-end.

Your baby is taking up more room in your uterus and back pain may seem worse. Your baby’s increased size will cause an increase of pressure on your stomach and bladder and so you will likely have an increased need to urinate.

If you have not had an ultrasound before this your doctor will probably want to do one. This can show how your baby is laying in the womb, if there is the proper amount of amniotic fluid, and if there are any problems with your baby.  More likely than not your baby is perfectly healthy.
