The overwhelming advice from everybody nowadays is to make sure that your baby sleeps on their back. The "Back To Sleep" campaign recommends that you should place your healthy child on their back when they are sleeping this is to reduce the risks of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and also a known cause "Crib Death".

It is recommended that you do not put blankets in your baby's crib until they are at least 12 months old. The main reason for this is because once they reached this age they are able to move more freely so give a blanket does happen to go over their face they can move it away without any problems. Many parents have concerns with a newborn baby about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and research that has been done by the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that many babies suffocate and are found on their stomach with their faces covered with a pillow or blanket. A child who wets the bed often has a lowered self-esteem because of this “problem”. You may find their pajamas rolled up and in the corner of their closet. Children will try to hide the fact that they wet the bed at night. These children deserve love and support not the anger of their parents or the belittling statements made by siblings. The child should be supported as they go through this.
