Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker

Posted on January 12, 2010 by Elaine2 Comments

Beaba-Babycook-Baby-Food-MakerI came across the Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker a couple weeks ago but am only now getting time to write a review of this product now. When I first seen this to be honest I was thinking it looks a little bit over the top for what it does because I probably have most of this equipment in my kitchen anyway. But, then I got thinking what if you don’t! and what if you have a small kitchen and do not have the space for storing a separate steamer, microwave, and blender because this one unit can do all the jobs it would take three different appliances for.

So let me just give you a quick overview of what this baby food maker actually does. It’s designed to be a blender, steamer, defroster and reheat your all built into one unit. It has a defrosting function which will allow you to prepare and freeze foods in batches, which I’m sure many moms do at the start of the week prepared food for the coming days. I know this is something I have definitely done in the past (and still do now) especially if I know I’m going to have a busy week ahead. The built-in steamer allows you to steam vegetables which has been said helps to retain more vitamins. I personally use a steamer at home when cooking all vegetables nowadays there is a massive difference compared to what my mom used to do when she used to boil them you can taste the difference.

The suggested way to use the appliance by Beaba the manufacturer is historically steam cooking all your vegetables, meats, fruit and it can take less than 15 minutes. As we have said already when you steam food it helps to preserve their vitamins and flavor. You can then simply purée the food to your desired consistency. The unit can also be used to quickly reheat or if you have already prepared foods recently it will help to defrost this precooked food.

It’s dishwasher safe it has been passed BPA for safety tests. It’s easier to create smaller portions which in the long term will save you money because many people do tend to make too much food. But, by simply popping it into your freezer makes so much sense.

What Do We Like

It can work out quite expensive to purchase pre-prepared foods as I’m sure you are aware. If you really think about it this pre-prepared foods will probably like the vitamins and nutrition required for your baby. Now I’m certainly not going to get into this area now on baby nutrition you can find plenty of websites out there with lots of information to help.

The key things are :

  • This is one single unit that can do everything for you
  • It will not take up much space in your kitchen
  • Steams fruits and vegetables perfectly
  • The food processor has been said by one customer review that we read to be phenomenal
  • Easy to clean
  • Makes wonderful tasting healthy baby food very easily

What Customers Said

We read a number of reviews over at Amazon and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of positive feedback. Although some people said that this may be overpriced once they have started to use it they could see the benefit of the savings they could make rather then buying preprepared baby food in their local store.

When you read things like awesome, phenomenal, perfect and LOVE IT you know that there are many satisfied customers. One customer did mention that there is steaming water in this when it is cooking foods and pointed out that it’s important that you are aware of where this is placed in your kitchen, away from your baby. This is good advice and something that all of his parents must keep in mind when cooking in their kitchens, safety is important of course around all parts of our home when it comes to steaming water you must be extra vigilant. I know from experience of spending a couple of weeks in hospital from burns have important this advice is.

What Are Our Conclusions

Overall there are many positive reviews of this machine as it will make perfect meals for eating at your child will definitely enjoy. As ever it’s always important to read reviews and ratings before you purchase anything. This is a fantastic gadget I’ll make beautiful edible purée baby food meals for your baby fresh and that you know exactly what the ingredients are. We always check review sites to see what other stink and as you can see from the customer reviews both most of the customers who have purchased this product are extremely happy.

Is Jarred Baby Food Cooked?

Posted on February 9, 2009 by ElaineNo Comments

Jarred baby food is cooked but there are a couple of things you need to understand this. During the cooking process the food in jars are over processed, which means that most of the nutrients have been cooked away.

Jarred baby food is of course very convenient for fast pace of life. They are always handy to have incase of on emergency. The better option is to feed your fresh baby food with lots of nutrients.

If you are going to use jarred foods you are not supposed to feed straight from the jar. Also be aware of the size of the jar as they are sometime too big and too much food for your baby.
