Is Jarred Baby Food Cooked?

Posted on February 9, 2009 by ElaineNo Comments

Jarred baby food is cooked but there are a couple of things you need to understand this. During the cooking process the food in jars are over processed, which means that most of the nutrients have been cooked away.

Jarred baby food is of course very convenient for fast pace of life. They are always handy to have incase of on emergency. The better option is to feed your fresh baby food with lots of nutrients.

If you are going to use jarred foods you are not supposed to feed straight from the jar. Also be aware of the size of the jar as they are sometime too big and too much food for your baby.

What To Do For A Teething Baby

Posted on February 9, 2009 by ElaineNo Comments

This is tough question to answer because every child is different which means all solutions will be different and of course will depend on your child.  Believe it or not some children have no issues with teething.  Obviously if you’re here reading this you’re not one of those lucky parents.

Here’s some ideas we found around the Internet and how some parents helped their babies teething pain and also helped the parents from going insane while trying to keep their babies happy.  Frozen banana or any other fresh fruit mashed so long as it’s cold this seems to have worked as this will help to relief the pain for a time.

You can purchase teething rings in most baby stores simply put this in your freezer in your baby’s teething they can chew on this. This work wonders for my first child but did not work on the second child.

Baby’s teething gel can be bought in your local pharmacy again this worked on one of my children and not on the other, may give a little relief to your child’s. A tip from a local doctor was also to use 1/2 dose of baby tylonol if it got really bad.
Hopefully these small tips to help you a little just remember there is no the answer to this question is just a matter of trial and error on your behalf at.

What Childproofing Products Can I Install Myself

Posted on February 9, 2009 by ElaineNo Comments

First off you don’t need pay anybody to install childproofing products in your home.  Most of the products available are going to get and self-install let’s take for example Cabinet locks these can be purchased in your local store normally in packs of 10 or 12, which should be enough for most homes.

The lock will come in two parts will attach the door and the last such on the cabinet itself very very simple to install only takes a couple of minutes all you need is a screwdriver to install. You will get instructions when you purchase one of these to be honest we should not need them as they are so easy to install.

Baby safety gates and be another thing that you can install yourself, of course this depends on your home and your stairs is setup. Most homes is only requires a few minutes work and can be installed really easy.  If however you have a more complicated setup you may needs to get a child safety professional to install new gates.  Check with your local store for custom mount kits for your safety gates became make sure you have the measurements of the area as they can be installed before purchasing, your local store and be able to advise the best type of safety gates for your situation.

The sockets a really simple to install you can purchase these in your local store normally in packs of 6 or 12 and only take a moment to place in each sockets.  These are easy for parents to install the difficult for a child to grip on and take it.  Such simple childproof product can say is that it is fingers trying to access electrical sockets.

In the kitchen be aware of electrical cables from kettles, toasters, coffee makers or anything that may hang over the kitchen counter if your baby sees this opportunity they will be trying to pull it down.

Other things to be aware of is to use common sense just keep any breakable items out of your baby’s reach and all small objects they maybe able to chew out of of your baby’s reach as well.

We hope these tips are useful and I’ll give you some ideas on what you need to do so you can childproof a home by yourself.

What is Childproofing

Posted on February 9, 2009 by ElaineNo Comments

Childproofing your home basically entails making it safe for young children.  The kind of things you need to be aware of are electrical sockets which any local DIY store will stock plugs, these fit nicely into the sockets and are hard for children to grip. The last thing you want is your child putting tiny fingers into electrical sockets.

Cabinets are another area that you need to look at when childproofing, allowing your child’s to access these could be disastrous for you (with smashed plates for example) and you can also endanger your child’s.  Cabinet locks worked on the inside and normally very very simple to install and make it difficult for a child with small fingers to open. The last thing you want is to have your child’s access to a cabinet with chemicals and cleaning products.  Again you can find these in your local DIY store on to install them all you need is a screwdriver and a little time.

Your baby will not understand the dangers all around them all they are interested in is exploring, which in turn will probably drive you mad but if you have your home child friendly this should not be an issue.

Next area we need to look at is a stair gate. These basically install at the top of the stairs also at the bottom if needed and prevent your baby trying to explore this area and of course the dangers of falling down.  These gates of course come in different sizes depending on the size of the stairs. They are an essential part of making your home safe your baby.

Young Children will not be aware of the hidden dangers in your home, in fact maybe you will not be aware of some of them. Maybe ask what other parents have done and asked them to help and recommend changes you need to make to your home.
