Buttercream frosting with royal icing flowers, and Tinkerbell poised in the middle, amidst pink, purple and yellow flowers - with her fairy wand in hand.
Such a magical cake might just be too pretty to eat! How perfect would this be for a Tinkerbell baby shower celebrating that special mom-to-be? She would love it and so would her guests! What memories this theme would create.
Imagine it…. The invitations on white paper with a hint of pastel green are a great idea, yellow and pink in the background, complimented with pink roses and purple swirls and just a touch of gold foil - Just enough gold foil to tie in the gold-foiled envelopes. Whimsical Tinkerbell up in the corner sprinkling her fairy dust all about the announcement, inviting the friends and family of the mother-to-be to this spectacular baby shower. …and poof! You're invited to the baby shower! oh what fun.
The table filled with finger foods, sandwiches with the crusts removed, beautiful pastry treats and chocolates as a centerpiece, adorned with delicate napkins that flatter the baby shower theme, in lieu of actually matching it - not the brightly printed matching paper plates or cups. This shower is using delicately, die cut white napkins with disposable white plates. The table is covered with a white cover that matches the background of the invitations; it is white with pastels blended into the background. The tables are lightly sprinkled with glitter and small pieces of curly ribbon. It works perfectly for a girl or a boy.
Adorning two corners of the refreshment table, as well as the gift table, the entrance door and the mailbox outside we have frosted pink, frosted lavender and frosted white (with raised white stars, that appear embossed) helium balloons, attached by matching curly ribbon. We are blowing up the balloons ourselves using one of the small helium tanks available at the hobby store we are like kids at parties.
The games that we are playing at this baby shower include 'Tinkerbell Tag' and 'Pin the Star on the Wand'they will really be entertaining. With Tinkerbell Tag, the person who is 'it' has to catch and "tag" someone else from the party. Once 'tagged' the person who is 'it' sprinkles that person with fairy dust and then that person becomes 'it', and then they have to catch someone else the plan is all coming together. Pin the Star on the Wand is game that we play by posting a picture of our ever-glowing Tinkerbell on the wall, then blindfolding one person at a time, spin them around in circles, point them toward the picture of Tinkerbell and let them try to pin the star at the tip of her wand. Whoever gets the star the closest to the tip of Tinkerbell's wand wins the game.
Our thank you cards are designed using the same color and paper that we used on the invitations, with the same gold foiled envelopes. Maintaining the theme throughout from start to finish was an important factor for us.
