Princess baby shower themes

Summary: Pink is for princess - and of course, it's perfect for a little girl's baby shower to.  Princess baby shower themes have never been more popular and it's easy to see why.  The options are limitless and the colors are simply ideal!

A princess baby shower can be a generic princess theme or it can be more specific designed around princesses like Cinderella, The Princess and the Pea Baby, Snow White, The Snow Princess, Ariel the Mermaid, Princess Jasmine, Princess Belle, etc.  This theme is very easy to work with and the supplies can be purchased almost anywhere.  Themes can even be mix and matched.  So make it a royal celebration, fit for a princess!

On pink parchment paper, we printed our invitations that we designed using our desktop graphics program; we created the text from our of a basic word processor program.  Once printed, we deckled the edges with special scrapbooking scissors and the wadded the paper up into a ball, flattened back out and stained with tea bags for an aged look. For an added touch, we glued small wooden dowels to the very top and bottom of the invitations and wrapped the paper around them for a scroll look.  Simply elegant.

Each guest was greeted by a pink carpet and was given a tiara and a goodie bag with little princess gifts.  Technically the princess gifts in the goodie bags were for a child's princess party but along with those little trinkets we also filled the bags with confetti and a copy of the mother-to-be and baby's sonogram, so they were very welcomed goodies.

On the tables we had disposable cameras that had the 'princess frames' built in, so all of our developed photos, taken by various guest, all had different frames on them.  They were very exciting to get back and will be wonderful to scrapbook.

On the wall we had a princess party time banner that all visitors left a little note on and signed, to be hung in the nursery, which is decorated in a princess theme.  They were allowed to use gold, silver, pink and purple pens on the sign, that way the colors all match the nursery nicely.

Of course we could not resist tossing in the "I'm at the wrong party" gag, that is becoming a bit hit at baby showers these days.  That is where a guest arrives, sits down and joins the party for a short time, and as people begin introducing themselves she becomes flustered and visibly uncomfortable.  Then suddenly, when she is supposed to introduce herself, she jumps up and says she's at the wrong baby shower, and as she's jumping up she drops her purse, spilling it's contents.  After she runs out of the house the remaining guests are asked to write down all of the contents of her purse, and the one who lists the most items wins the contest.

Another game that we played was the HA - HA - HA game.  That's where one person says, "Ha", and the next person says, "Ha ha", and the next says, "Ha ha ha", and each person keeps adding a "ha" until the next person in line busts out laughing and breaks the chain.

Each person winning a game won another tiara.

It was a beautiful shower.  We had a cake that looked like a princess; the main part of the cake was her skirt, with icing lace, and pretty pink paper plates and napkins. The table with the cake was adorned with Christmas lights, making it sparkle.

Wishing you the best with your princess theme baby shower!
