Double strollers

Double strollers offer a two for one ride

You are looking to find good double strollers because you either have twins or have a toddler and newborn. Trying to push two strollers at once is like a two-headed dragon when each head wants to go in the opposite direction.  You will end up not being to control one or both of them. The solution is double strollers.

There is a variety of seating arrangements in double strollers. There is side by side seating, seating where the two children face each other (one is facing the rear), tandem seating (one in back of the other), and stadium tandem seating (the rear seat is raised so the child can see over the other’s head).

Double strollers should be easy to use, have good braking capability, no sharp edges or gaps and a sturdy, stable frame.  The two seats no matter the arrangement have individual canopies with viewing area.  How easy does it fold- can you fold it with one hand?  All belts and buckles should be durable and not so easy to use that your little one will be able to get of the stroller on his own.   A heavy frame could mean it would be difficult to carry or put in the trunk for traveling.

Does it come with a rain cover or netting?  Some brands of double strollers will include that. Do the wheels turn easily if you have swivel wheels?  Be aware of the maximum weight the stroller will hold.  Putting a child who is over the weight limit could cause a danger to your baby. Some double strollers come with options like a snack/play tray for baby and a parent organizer tray which holds your keys, cell phone, and a beverage.  The two seats recline so that one or both of your children can lie flat.
