Baby strollers should be easy to use

Baby strollers can make outings with your baby fun. A stroller that is easy to use and maneuver will be an added pleasure. Some things to look for in baby strollers is whether there are gaps or sharp edges in the frame that could hurt your baby. Check out the brake system for ease of operation. Brakes that are connected to two wheels are preferred. The seat should be able to be fully reclined to allow your newborn to lie flat. Make sure all belts, straps, and buckles are sturdy but not too easy for the baby to open and escape from the stroller on his own.

The frame should be sturdy enough to prevent tipping but light enough to be easily transported when traveling or putting in the trunk. Comfort for yourself, the parent, includes adjustable height handlebars to minimize or eliminate the need for bending as your push your baby.

Handlebars could be reversible; a latch would release the handle(s) to change from a front facing position to a rear facing position. Other models of baby strollers have seats that can be removed and become infant carriers. Others are called travel systems meaning a stroller that converts to infant carrier and then to a car seat and a stay in the car base. Others have a snack/ play tray for the baby and a parent organizer that includes a cup holder a place to put your keys and cell phone. Most have storage area under the seats, hoods or canopies to shield the baby from the sun.

Optional attachments include rain hoods, bug shields and sun shields. To make traveling easier an umbrella stroller is lightweight, easy to use, and some have storage under the seat. One word of caution though about umbrella strollers they can tip and cause possible injury to the baby. Choose according to personal preference. Some strollers also come with carrying straps.
