There are baby products in abundance. How do you choose them

Soaps, shampoos, and lotions are good baby products for you baby’s skin provided they are not strongly scented, are gentle on the baby and will not burn his eyes.  Most products are hypoallergenic and non-toxic.There are almost as many brands as there are baby products.

Baby products choices can be overwhelming but you can research the product to see if it does what it claims.   Go with the products that you might be more familiar with and trust.   Just a note here about skin products for your little one; you don’t want your baby’s skin to get dry so many parents massage lotion on their babies right after bath time.  Make sure that it moisturizes with out leaving greasy residue on the baby that might make him slippery to handle and that might stain clothing.

Baby products can go from clothing to toys and almost everything in between that you can think of.  With toys, or anything else for that matter that your baby will have, avoid small buttons or anything the baby can pull off and choke on.  A diaper is the most used product for babies.  You need to decide whether you will go with cloth or disposable.  There are diaper services that will wash your cloth diapers for you. Disposables are convenient and even for older children who may wet the bed; there are disposable underwear they can wear at night to protect their bedclothes and mattress.  Strollers, cribs, car seats, are items that you will need to keep in good repair for your baby’s safety.
