Square baby cribs – Low Cost And Comfort At The Same Time
Most
baby cribs referred to as square baby cribs are actually
rectangular, though perhaps shorter then average on the long side of
the crib. Square like or rectangular cribs are the most popular type
of cribs sold in the United States. They’re also the easiest to find
bedding, crib and baby nursery accessories for. Cribs are usually
made of metal or wood and are found in baby specialty stores,
department stores, discount stores and on the internet.
One low cost square baby crib maker is Cosco. Kinderkraft, Evenflo,
Graco
and Fisher Price also offer several very affordable baby crib
models. These companies have been making cribs and other baby
products for decades and have long been known for their attention to
safety. Jenny Lind cribs are a bit more pricey then the baby cribs
listed above, but are worth it considering their attractiveness and
features.
This company has both classic and modern style cribs with finishes
to match any baby nursery décor. Jenny Lind also makes other baby
nursery furniture such as changing tables and
rocking chairs, in the
same variety of styles and finishes as their crib lines.
There are several important considerations when choosing a crib.
First of all, cribs made prior to the 1980s weren’t held to federal
safety guidelines. Crib bars shouldn’t be farther apart then 2 3/8“.
This is a hard distance to judge, but if a 12oz soda can passes
through the slats they are too far apart and the baby can become
trapped in them.
A mattress should fit snugly with no more then two finger widths
distance between it and the sides of the crib. Soft bedding, pillows
and stuffed animals should be for decoration only and not be in the
crib when the baby is, as they’re potential SIDS hazards.
